The PlateSpin Marketing Team is one of creativity, accountability, and expertise. The team was hand-picked by the Marketing Leadership to build an agency within the walls of a software development company. One of the key success factors is the ability to measure every dollar spent in advertising, events, collateral, etc. and associate it with a lead. The marketing team has been able to establish tracking and metrics to the point where at a click of a button they can understand exactly what is working, what is not, and adjust as needed to deliver a high volume and high quality of leads to the PlateSpin Sales organization. The marketing team has been able to establish PlateSpin as the leader in the server consolidation and disaster recovery markets as they relate to virtualization.
The Marketing Team is made up of a number of key groups which include a Creative Team, a Web and Infrastructure Team, and individuals who deliver the writing, program management, event coordination, product marketing, and channel program management. As a team, most of the individuals joined PlateSpin through the recruiting efforts of Cadman Chui - VP, Mark Pileski - Director, Bill Kalogiros - Creative Director, and Maziar Aflatoun – Web Operations. Through 2006 those 4 built the PlateSpin Marketing Team by bringing in those people who were time tested and proven, having worked with at least one member of the team previously. Cadman, Mark and Bill worked together at previous companies on 2 different occasions prior to joining PlateSpin.
In 2006, the PlateSpin Marketing Team completely re-branded the company and developed a new website all in-house, both activities done concurrently with executing the largest event in the Company’s history (VMworld 2006). In 2006, the marketing Team was responsible for generating over 20,000 targeted leads for the Company and was able to track each sale made back to the lead source, allowing them to continually improve on campaigns, events, and other lead generating activities.
